Maria has lived in the local area her whole life – she attended Woodland Road Public School and Broughton Anglican College where she was School Vice Captain.
She has three children, and her family has lived in Campbelltown for over 100 years – her descendants were one of the early settlers in Campbelltown and were fruit growers, dairy farmers and cable makers. Maria is also a Justice of the Peace.
Maria comes from a family which has been big supporters of many local events and charities over time. In 2000, Maria received Campbelltown’s Young Citizen of the Year award. She sat on the Campbelltown Show Society committee for three years as Showgirl Chief Steward and Secretary. She also sat on the Fishers Ghost Festival Committee.
Passionate about supporting the local business community, she joined Narellan Chamber of Commerce in 2011 and sat on the board for many years as Secretary and then President. When she ran her own small business, Macarthur Castles, she supported many local charities, events, community run initiatives. In 2013 her business was awarded volunteer business of the year.
Maria is a strong advocate for small business and enjoy supporting our local businesses and members of the community. She also advocates for youth in our area and would like to see more venues available locally where they can attend in a safe environment and socialise.
